Error Messages

When entering data for fields in the application page, be aware that data is checked for errors when you attempt to save or submit the application. Error messages are displayed if data has been entered incorrectly or if the required data is missing. Error messages appear at the top of the application page and any fields containing errors are indicated by a red border. These error messages appear as links. When you click the error message, the cursor moves to the field that contains the error.

Dates

Select the date using the drop-down lists for the month, date, and four-digit year. You can also select the date using the calendar widget next to the drop-down lists.

Currency Amounts

Enter decimal currency amounts, for example, as dollars and cents. When entering data in currency fields, do not enter the currency sign or any commas. For example, if an application shows an hourly salary of $12.50 and other income of $2,125.70, enter 12.50 and 2125.70 respectively. If the cents are zeroes, you do not need to enter them or the decimal point.

Interest Rates

Enter interest rates as decimal fractions with three decimal places. For example, enter an interest rate of 4.5% as .045.

Phone Numbers

Do not use any special formatting such as parentheses or hyphens.

Postal Codes

Use the alphanumeric postal code, as applicable.

Personal ID Number

Enter up to 20 digits. For example, you may enter the nine-digit Social Security Number for the USA. Because this field contains sensitive information, this entry is masked. To briefly display the data you have entered, click Show ID. The Show ID option appears if you have been assigned the role that allows you to see it.

If you select the Existing customer? check box, you can use Search and prefill to retrieve the customer's information by picking the first match for the given ID from existing applications using their personal ID number, and enter information in the Personal ID field.
