Setting up CRAs
The
Application Processing Module has been designed to obtain and use consumer credit reports and online credit bureau scores from the following major US Credit Reporting Agencies (CRAs): Equifax US, Experian, and TransUnion US.
By default, the
Application Processing Module is configured to obtain reports from the
Data Acquisition Module.
Before processing applications, make sure you have created an account with each CRA from which you wish to obtain credit reports. If you do not already have one, contact one (or more) of the CRAs to open an account. If you want to perform application scoring using the Analytic Module, it is recommended that you also confirm that your account with the CRA provides access to credit bureau models that the Analytic Module requires. When you open an account, each CRA supplies you with information (such as your subscriber number) that you must enter into the Application Processing Module to purchase the credit reports online.

- Covered Topics
- Credit Report Freeze
Consumers have the option to freeze their credit reports. A freeze prevents a lending agency from accessing a consumer's credit report and approving credit for the consumer without consent. When a consumer needs credit and applies for it, the credit report has to be unlocked and the freeze has to be lifted either for a particular lender or for a period of time. The consumer is given a PIN, which is required to unlock the credit report. - CRA Access Parameters
Administrators with the proper permissions set the CRA access parameters, such as subscriber numbers and online credit bureau scoring models for each CRA that the Application Processing Module uses. You must set CRA access parameters so users can obtain credit reports for applicants. - Setting CRA Access Parameters
Use the CRA Configuration > Create CRA page to set up account information and online credit bureau scoring model preferences when using Equifax US, Experian, and TransUnion US to obtain credit reports for applicants. - Modifying CRA Access Parameters
Use the Edit CRA page to modify CRA access parameter entries. - Deleting CRA Access Parameters
Use the CRA page to delete one or more CRA access parameter entries. - Activating and Deactivating CRA Access Parameters
To activate or deactivate a CRA access parameter entry, use the Activate or Deactivate buttons that appear near the top of the CRA page. - Credit Report - Print Image or HTML Report
For the Synchronous Consumer LOB, you can specify whether the Application Overview page displays the credit report obtained from the Data Acquisition Module as plain credit report or as an HTML image. This setting is done at a client level.
