Model Categories

A model category defines a line of business covered by a set of models in a model suite. A model category can only belong to one model suite, but can correspond to one or more models within a model suite.

Model categories are used in products and populations. A population code is created for every model category; based on the score cutoff set for every model category, the recommended decision is made for products under this model category.

The preconfigured solution uses model categories which are associated with the SBSS 7.0 Model Suites. Origination Manager supports SBSS7 (if you have the Analytic Module); so the list of model categories in the Model category drop-down list on the Products > Create Products and Products > Edit <Product Name> pages represent the lines of business that the model suites support. It is important that care be taken while selecting the correct model category since the score cutoff values could be different for consumer and small business products and product categories.
